A stochastic Facility Location and Inventory Balancing in a Multi-echelon Multi-objective for integrated forward/reverse logistics network design

Despite many valuable studies reported in the current literature of supply chain, considerable gaps still prevail. These gaps include integration and insertion of basic concepts, such as queuing theory, facility location, inventory management, or even uncertainty and stochastic environment.nnIn this paper, we integrated four-echelon multi-period multi-objective forward/reverse logistics under uncertainty model. The proposed model encompasses inventory and facility location planning, simultaneously to make the model closer to the real world problems beside that for the proposed model we use scenario-based stochastic approach. Numerical results show the power of the proposed stochastic model in handling data uncertainty. Since the customer’s demand is tainted with high degree of uncertainty, a robust optimization approach is proposed to deal with this important issue. An efficient genetic algorithm is applied to determine the Pareto optimal solutions. Finally, some numerical examples are conducted to evaluate the efficiency of the developed model and its solution algorithm
